Read full description of the books Amelia:

Yet another awful book about Irish history. At least The Guns of Easter had some action going on.This is about some brat who cares nought about anything but clothes, boys etc.And don't say she was a product of her time no she wasn't. The average girl her age was slaving away (like the maid) but of course the author thought it fit to try and redeem the little turd by making her 'Papa' go bankrupt so poor Amelia has to endure teasing at her school.Except she unlike most girls actually gets to go the school a fancy one at that! And it's becoming a trend now to have the younger brother get 'ill' or missing so we've also got a sickly brother,a biddy of a grandma, drunk 'Papa' and to round it all up...a suffragette mother.Just to remind you of the period its set in.The book was actually cringe-worthy the way it was written. And of course the brats gonna get with Freddy? Can't remember his name.
